The Par Pacific Story

Roots
Par Pacific Holdings began in 2012, embracing the decades-long histories of Wyoming Refining Company, U.S. Oil, Par Montana and Par Hawaii. Seeing a need for expertise in remote areas where fuel providers were limited, we sought to supply these markets, bringing our know how and expertise.
Growth
Par Pacific has grown into a Fortune 500 company. Beginning in 2013 with the acquisition of a refinery in Kapolei, Hawaii, we began building an integrated energy network in the Pacific market. Through advantageous acquisitions and other growth opportunities, we have become the market leader in Hawaii, where we are better known as Par Hawaii, Hele and 76. Our refineries, retail locations and logistic system supply all of the major islands in Hawaii.

Expansion
Our growth-oriented mindset has also led to expansion into the Rockies and Pacific Northwest. Through our acquisitions of Wyoming Refining Company in 2016, U.S. Oil & Refining Co. in 2019 and Par Montana in 2023, along with the Northwest retail acquisition, we now own and operate 125,000-bpd of combined refining capacity, related multi-modal logistics systems and over 30 retail locations. You can see us more visibly at nomnom retail locations in Washington State and Idaho.
Future
There is a compelling need for sustainable refining capabilities and infrastructure. That is why we see ourselves as a critical element of the ongoing energy transition. In late 2019, we received our first unit train of ethanol in Washington via our new renewable fuels logistics system, which includes marine terminal storage and blue water access for renewable fuels. In 2023, we announced a $90 million investment in sustainable aviation fuel production at our Hawaii refinery to supplement conventional fuel production.
